SMOOTHIE BOWL RECIPE – SIMPLE AND SUMMERY
I’m a sugar fiend but lately I’ve been looking at healthier options to satisfy my cravings and this summer smoothie bowl recipe is every bit as tasty as a chocolatey dessert and full of nutrients. Since I stopped eating so many biscuits, my palette has actually changed and I prefer dark chocolate now. I love my Nutribullet so I’ve been experimenting and the other day, this magic happened. This was one of the easiest things I’ve made and it tasted like ice-cream. I loved it! Oh, and it’s dairy free for vegans. BOOM! Since I’ve started being more mindful of taking time to really be present in each activity I’m carrying out, I’ve actually enjoyed cooking and baking. As long as the pay-off is good and this treat really is!
Smoothie Bowl Recipe – Ingredients
1 Alpro Soya Heavenly Velvet Vanilla dessert
1 frozen banana (chop before freezing)
2 cups almonds milk or more as desired (depending on how thick and creamy you like the texture)
150 g blueberries frozen
SMOOTHIE BOWL RECIPE – TOPPINGS
Chia seeds (great source of fibre, Omega-3 fats and protein)
Muesli (I love Kelkin’s original muesli)
Cacao Nibs (Supervalu does them)
Dates (I got some Medjool dates from Algeria – unbelievable but Supervalu & Aldi have them )
Almonds or hazelnuts
Edible flowers optional (list linked)
SMOOTHIE BOWL RECIPE – THE LAZY GIRL’S METHOD
Using a Nutribullet or food processor, combine the frozen blueberries and banana with the almond milk and soya dessert. Three minutes and voila – a deliciously creamy smoothie bowl. Decorate with suggested toppings or as you like! Easy peasy. This was so delicious and it’s probably 5 million calories but seriously, you can’t beat some fruity indulgence in the summer!
