GOOD THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES – THE HIGH STREET BAGS YOU NEED RIGHT NOW
Handbags are like vacuum cleaners – you never know what you might find in them. The odd time, you might begin a scavenger hunt and actually uncover some long-lost treasure but most of the time it’s just a bottomless pit of discardable debris. Size does matter and if you want to keep your handbag clutter-free, here’s a tip – KEEP HER SMALL, Sham (and lit, obvs). Whether you’re coveting the latest Chloe, Gucci or Valentino, these cheap-as-chips high street versions are dead-ringers for your desired designer arm candy. Now let your fingers do the shopping.
THE CHLOE DUPE
This Topshop cross-body bag has Chloe Faye written all over it. With a long gold chain strap and the on-point ring detail, for €34, you can’t go wrong. The red bag is in store but is only currently available in black online. Check back soon though! This really similar Mango one is online now.
THE VALENTINO GARAVANI DOPPELGANGER
This Penney’s cross-body is the closest I’m ever coming to Valentino Garavani’s padlock cross body bag. I love the DIY-ified look of this Penneys minituare – it has some serious designer vibes for a mere €8. The padlock, the patches, the possibilities….Get thee to the local Primark. Frailty, thy name is magpie.
THE GUCCI LOOKALIKE
Gucci has everyone worth her fashion salt going gaga and this River Island has replicated the padlock, floral appliqued bag to a tee. The leatherette strap tucked into the bag is the perfect length for a cross-body staple. It’s a steal for €35.
Which bag is your fave? Here’s some more high street heroes I’m loving this week.
This Asos velvet cat bag is very Charlotte Olympia.
I’M READY FOR MY CLOSE-UP MS. CHANEL
A quilted cross-body bag has an everlasting appeal, thanks to Gabrielle Coco Chanel. This cheap-as-chips bag from Asos will do for now.
ROCK YOUR BODY
Studs? Check? Blush pink pastel du jour? Check. Cross-body convenience. This New Look beauty is the cheap-as-chips bag destined to be your new wardrobe staple, not to mention a serious whiff of the Valentino Rock Studs collection.
Is it a Moschino? Is it a pencil case? No, it’s the awesome new Hype x Coca-Cola backpack that oozes Jeremy Scott vibes in spades.
Olympia le Tan called and she wants her clutch bag. Actually can’t cope with how on-trend this Tatty Devine bag is. It’s a washbag but I’d definitely wear it as a clutch.
